28th and 29th September... Grading Weekend

Its that time again folks when all the hard work of 3 months or 6 months, depending on your grade, will be presented live by you in front of Master Donnelly and the instructors. By now those grading will have their grading forms and hopefully these will be completed and back with your instructor by now..... You'll have mine and Teagan's on Wednesday Mr Chahal... honest! :)

28th is the Glasgow grading at Townhead Village Hall, 60 St Mungos Avenue, Glasgow. Its at 4:45pm for a 5pm start. I look forward to hearing how you all get on but I know you'll all do fantastic as always :)

29th is the Ayrshire grading at St Joseph's Academy, Kilmarnock. This is a 9am start so please get there at about 8:45am. I look forward to see you all there, I know all your hard work will shine through.

Still a few training sessions between now and the weekend so plenty of time to get some last minute polish on those patterns and line work... and remember your theory! I don't have to bang on about it again do I??? :) If you do (oh no... hes banging on again!!) the link to the grading prep post is here.

For those grading (for the first time or nth time) here are few points for the day itself, and yes I am repeating myself here:

  • Get there about 15mins before the start so not to be late..... late = bad form!
  • White official TAGB doboks only (no club doboks please)
  • Listen to what the examiner is asking you to do e.g. "Start with right foot, right hand"
  • If you're doing a pattern and make a mistake, stop, take a deep breath and start it again from the beginning
  • PLEASE KEEP THE NOISE DOWN!! This goes for people watching the grading as well as those who have been and those waiting to be graded. Everyone grading is nervous enough so please be courteous to those who are grading at the time.
  • If you can, please stay until all the gradings have been completed. We started together so lets finish together.

Good luck to all and a special good luck to all the whitebelts doing their first grading
