TAGB Scottish Closed Championship 2013 Results

I know you're all waiting for my report on the 2013 Scottish Closed, for the moment that's on hold for various reasons, but here's the all important club results to tide you over with for the moment


Pollok

• Louise MacDonald - girl's red belt lightweight - Gold individual sparring, Gold tag team, Gold patterns
• Chiara McIntyre - girl's red belt middleweight - Gold individual sparring, Gold tag team
• Andrew MacDonald - boy's red belt middleweight - Bronze tag team sparring
• Craig Dalziel - boy's red belt middleweight - Bronze tag team sparring

The following competitors gave an excellent performance but were unlucky to not receive a medal - Holly Webb, John Pitt and Lucy McCann. For Kayleigh Fogg and Charlotte Taylor this was their first time competing. Well done to all who took part!


Auchinleck

Prestwick & Ayr

• Mikey McDowall - boy's blue belt peewee - Silver individual sparring. Silver Tag Team Sparring

• Teagan Harley - girl's red belt - Bronze patterns

 Another great result from Prestwick & Ayr. Of particular note is the performance of bronze medallist Gillian Blackwood, appearing in her first ever competition. Good work Gill!


Kilmarnock

• Ashleigh Barton - girl's green belt – Bronze patterns
• Nicole Shearer girl's red belt lightweight – Silver individual sparring
• Breagh MacKellar – girl's lightweight - Bronze individual sparring. Silver tag team sparring
• Sarah Poole – girl's blue belt – Gold patterns. Silver tag team sparring      

Nice haul of medals there folks. Another couple first time competitors in the form of Kirsty Paterson and Emma Laird. Well gone girls in stepping up to the competitive plate to give it a go. See you at the next one! :)


Kilmarnock - Saturday Class
Stewart McRoberts has asked to mention that Fraser Jardine is the first from his class to compete and also that it was his first ever competition. He fought really well for this being is first appearance. I had a quick chat with Fraser on the day and he was really pumped up after competing. Well done Fraser! Hope to see you at the next competition :)


Glasgow West End

Well done Maya, remember to ask your mum and dad for a bigger medal cabinet as I bet there are more to come!


Dunlop, Irvine Valley & Rutherglen:

• Thomas Dillon - men's green belt - Bronze individual sparring
• James Wardrop - men's blue belt - Silver individual sparring

A big well done also go to Scott McBride, Ewan Stewart, Sam Speirs, Charlotte Moore, Adam Smith, Heather Dillon, Robert Wilson and Fraser Jardine. For most of them it was their first time so to the competition environment and they have since expressed how keen they are in continuing to compete.

Irvine

• Jardine Wroe - girls blue/red middleweight - Silver individual. Silver tagteam
• Alexandra Wroe - girls blue/red belt heavyweight - Silver individual sparring

Also competing and who did extremely well were Abigail Smyth, Michael Love, Lee Swanston, Elodie Schofield, Mason Campbell, David Ross, Katie Ross, Lucy Ross. Great work to all who competed!
